Background info...

Well... I'm the Region Leader for Capricorn!
As you will all know... I am a trainer and I also look after the 14+ girls in the state.

I was not a youth member. I came to be a Leader in a small country town when I relocated there with my husband (before kids) and was a teacher (after retraining from being a Geologist because we could not get jobs in the same town - back in the days when women didn't do that sort of work!) without a posting (breifly). Obviously I looked like I needed something to fill my time... and boy... does Guides fill my time!!!!!

Well... I stayed and have been Guiding for about 25 years in many a varied roles, including Unit Leader (both country and metro), Assistant State Commissioner, State Training Adviser, Assistant Chair of Finance Committee, Region Leader Representitive on Executive Committee and Member of State Council. It all sounds super impressive... but really... it is just an extension of being a Guide Leader and if you move to the city... they "trap" you!

The job I love the most is facillitating Guide training with Leaders just like you who are isolated by distance or even time. I never tire of sharing your experiences, finding new games or acivities, meeting new friends or renewing "old" friendships and basically having FUN!

I would like to share...

Lots of things, especially using the "electronic tools" I have learned about my course!!!

Thanks to GGA and this course, I can share some great stuff from our State Training Adviser, Dianne Hodgson, too!!!! She has put together a fantastic Voicethread on the Cashbooks that I think everyone in our Region should see!

So... click on the link and check it out!!!

Here is another Voicethread that I made for our course using a Power Point I had done for Junior Leaders (and Leaders) on Playing Games in the Unit. You may have seen the PPT at a one of my training sessions. I didn't use a written script... so it is a bit ... "tentative" in places!

I'll be adding a few more things form time to time... so keep checking!
